A couple of years ago, after a crazy itch and lots of online browsing, I welcomed this sweet little 1964 Yellowstone travel trailer to our family. She’s not but 10 feet long and a little over 6-1/2 feet wide but she is BIG LOVE. For much of the year she sits in my backyard as a grown-up playhouse. She hosts champagne brunches, afternoon cocktails, and imagination jams for the little ones in my life.
I don’t have huge aspirations for Rosebud, other than to bring her to a few music festivals and a romantic camping trip or two a year. She brings joy everywhere she goes as a little piece of nostalgia. Most importantly though, she brings me great joy. She is my partner when I’m out in nature, keeping me dry and cozy, warm or cool depending on the time of year. She represents the beauty of simplicity and of preserving our past. She serves nearly every purpose I could ask of her.
I’m going to be giving her a much needed home-grown exterior paint job in the coming weeks, which I will chronicle here. Wish me luck!
