I don’t know much about astrology or moon cycles or any of that, but I’m interested and I read about it every month. What I do know is there is a connection between our rhythms and the rhythms of nature. It is all linked and it is undeniable. Its why hospital maternity wards are out of beds during a full moon, why our kids and pets are a little crazy at certain phases of the cycle, and why we all nod in understanding when we hear Mercury is in retrograde (even though we don’t understand really what that means).
Tides are more extreme with different cycles of the moon. The leaves fall from the trees every fall with the turn of the Earth. Ancient cultures are driven by a calendar that is based on our planet’s position in the Universe. This shit is real.
I don’t know much, but I know that these days leading up to this full Harvest Moon tonight have been…tough.
Change is happening.
For anyone out there who read that and said to themselves, “I don’t like change!” Get over it. Change is constant, you’ve lived with change consistently for your entire lifetime. You are actually way more okay with change than you think you are. So you can stop saying that.
But this is what I feel (and remember, I don’t “know” anything, but maybe this will resonate with you):
Things have been stirred up the past few months, and at times it has been rocky. Safety, confidence, security–they’ve all been challenged. But we’re still here. More than ever, we need to know and be connected to what we stand for. What principles are unwavering in our lives? What is the change we want to see in the world? Know it. Own it. Operate from that place.
You may have not known it, but you planted seeds…seeds of intention, seeds of passion, seeds of love…and harvest time has come. This is the full Harvest Moon. This Sunday is the Fall Equinox and we turn inward, things quiet and go dormant for a little while. It is beautiful restorative time. But right now–it’s time to reap what we have sown.
This is big change. It’s a bit of stripping down to the raw parts, being vulnerable…but trusting that you will come back stronger–after a little rest. For now, enjoy the fruits of your labor! Own your success right now, whatever it looks like! Look at that big, glorious moon and embrace your part in the rhythm.
I don’t know a lot, but I feel the change occurring and I’m excited by what it brings. Fall feels like the New Year to me in many ways, giving me the opportunity to steer my own course and pave a path of my choosing.
I hope this connects with you in some way. I must admit, I’m a bit giddy by the shining light of this moon–bright with it’s possibilities. Good night Moon, Good night Friends~
