Tonight is a New Moon–the time in the lunar cycle when the moon is in darkness, and it’s the most opportune time to look within and really think about changes we can make in our lives that will serve our highest interest. We can desire a partner, but what is it we really want? We can desire more money, but what is the feeling we are truly seeking? Don’t focus on the material or worldly things that we want to see in our lives, but rather bring your attention to the state of being you wish to have.
Put pen to paper and write down the feelings and emotions you will experience in the next month. For me, it’s words like:
Take this piece of paper and sleep with it under your pillow tonight. When you wake in the morning, look yourself in the mirror and read these words in an affirmative statement:
I am orderly, confident, passionate, peaceful, proud, and light-hearted.
And throw in some gratitude for good measure–consider it fertilizer for the seeds that you are planting. Speaking of planting seeds, take your slip of paper outside and find a potted plant or a spot in the yard that has nice, healthy soil. Dig a hole and plant your piece of paper in the Earth. Hold a mini-ceremony tomorrow morning performing this little ritual honoring the good that you are drawing in to your life, and sprinkle it with gratitude for the blessings that already bloom in your life.
Each time you look at yourself in the mirror, remember those words. Affirm them each time. Know that that is who you are. And be grateful.
